What is Ligament Injury? When the joint is stressed beyond its normal limits, the ligaments become tense. Common causes of a ligament injury include winding or landing awkwardly. An ACL injury is usually a sports-related knee injury PCL Injury- Posterior Cruciate Ligament Injury is one of the most common knee ligament injury involving the knee joint. MCL Sprain- Medial collateral ligament (MCL) is a knee binding on the inner side of the knee connecting the middle friction condyle and the intermediate tibial condyle.
